The First 100 Years of Jewish Detroit

In the span of a century, Detroit’s Jewish population grew from 51 people to more than 80,000. Join Archivists Laura Gottlieb and Robbie Terman from the Joan Meyers Jampel Center for Michigan Jewish Heritage as they explore why Jewish people flocked to Detroit and how they created a thriving community. Robbie Terman is the Director of the Leonard N. Simons Jewish Community Archives at the Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Detroit, and Laura Gottlieb is the Director of Cultural Resources at Temple Beth El. Both archivists hold a Master of Library and Information Science and Certification in Archival Administration from Wayne State University. This event is open to the public. Registration is required.
