Donna Jean Fritz (Maertens/Natzel), 84, of Romeo, died Saturday, Dec. 3, 2022 at Ascension Providence Hospital in Rochester. She was born Sept. 27, 1938 in Detroit.
Donna relocated a few times in her younger years before landing in Roseville where she met her first husband, Don. She and her second husband, Norm took an active role in the lives of her grandchildren. Being much support over the years and being the rock they all needed.
She enjoyed the simplicity of life in her condo in St. Clair, reading in her driveway during the summer and putting together a puzzle in the winter. She also surprisingly enjoyed watching John Cena perform in WWE wrestling.
She was also an active member of Our Redeemer Church in Washington Township.
Donna is survived by her loving husband Norm (Fritz) of nearly 19 years, daughter, Sara Maertens; grandchildren, Samantha (Aaron) Hunter, Elizabeth Maertens, Victoria Maertens and Christopher Maertens; and great-grandchildren, Harlow, Holden, Harper and Hagen.
Her death is preceded by her first husband of 41 years, Don Maertens, and her great-granchild, Halia Hunter, gone too soon.
Her legacy will carry on forever reminding us to be the best version of ourselves that we can be.
