More than two dozen volunteers held the bottom of a gigantic U.S. flag at Stony Creek Metropark’s Eastwood Beach last Friday to allow it to unfurl as a crane lifted into the air. The flag was displayed during a concert and fireworks show held at the park. It is estimated that more than 10,000 people attended the event on June 24. Photos of the firework show are on page 10.
