PAUL J REIZ

paulreizPaul J. Reiz, age 73, of Romeo, died Friday, June 17, 2016 at his home. He was born in Detroit, Michigan on September 10, 1942, the son of Paul A. and Mary Ann Reiz.

Mr. Reiz graduated in 1960 from St. Gregory Catholic High School in Detroit.  He was a 1982 graduate of Oakland University with a Bachelor’s Degree in management and post graduate studies in labor relations and project management. He started working at The Detroit News as an apprentice platemaker in 1963 and advanced through positions at the newspaper’s successor companies such as project manager, production director, plant manager, Director of Special Projects and Facilities/Security Director before retiring in 2012. He held numerous volunteer and civic positions through the years and served for 12 years as the Village President of Romeo and he was a board member of the Romeo Downtown Development Authority.

He is survived by his wife Anna and children, Lisa (Sean) Case, Paul M. Reiz, Stephanie (Andres) Sanchez and Craig Capaldi; sister, Rose Mary Reiz (Barry Shoults); and his former wife Marlene “Marti” Reiz.  He is also survived by four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Judy Reiz.

Visitation: 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., Monday, June 20 at the Roth-Muir Funeral Home, Romeo with Rosary at 7 p.m. and 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., Tuesday, June 21.

Funeral: 11 a.m., Tuesday, June 21 at the funeral home.

Burial: Romeo Cemetery.
