Kara Lotan of Ray Township is engaged to marry John Plotzke V of St. Clair Shores.
Ms. Lotan is a 2009 graduate of Romeo High School and an Oakland University graduate, where she was a track and field athlete.
Mr. Plotzke is a 2009 graduate of De La Salle Collegiate High School and a Lake Superior State University graduate, where he was also a track athlete.
They were introduced by a mutual college friend and athlete.
Ms. Lotan works as an activities assistant at Sarah’s Care, an adult day care, while continuing her education in occupational therapy.
Mr. Plotzke is a paramedic with a local ambulance company and is a fireman with the Franklin-Bingham Fire Department.
Both are assistant track and field coaches at St. Clare of Montefalco in Grosse Pointe Park.
Their wedding is scheduled for summer 2016.
