AUTUMN PEAK

The leaves on the maples and beech trees have turned yellow along along this stretch of the Macomb Orchard Trail behind the Ford Engine Plant in Romeo. The autumn colors along the trail between Shelby Township and Richmond have been spectacular this past week. According to the state’s tourism website, Pure Michigan, communities in southeast Michigan are expected to embrace peak conditions in one to two more weeks, but rain and wind can change predictions quickly and bring peak color quicker than anticipated.
