John (Tim) Evely, 72, of Brown City and formerly Romeo, died Friday, March 28, 2025 peacefully at home. He was born Sept. 13, 1952 to John and Germaine Evely. In 1996, he had married Sandra Wirth and they had two children together.
Tim graduated from Romeo High School in 1970 and joined the U.S. Air Force. He held a career with Carpenters Local 687 / Harrison Construction and was able to retire in the years 2007-2008. Major projects worked on include The Palace of Auburn Hills and the Chrysler Tech Center.
Tim enjoyed hunting, fishing year around, throwing horseshoes, the outdoors, good music and spending time with family and friends. He was humble and full of humor. Usually caught whistling or carrying a tune. He had more moves than Ex-Lax!
He is survived by his children, John Evely of Brown City and Jodie Evely (Zach West) of Attica; half-son, Jerry Elston, of Brown City; siblings, Donna (Chuck) Lesko, Scott (Sheri) Evely, Beth (Dale) Abercrombie, Jim Evely, Lori (Chip) Barnabo, Joe (Char) Evely and Kim (Tom) Daniel of Romeo; and grandson, Krue West.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
