Notice is hereby given that there will be a Public Hearing held before the Charter Township of Washington Planning Commission on Thursday, April 10th, 2025 at 6:30 p.m. in the Washington Township Municipal Building Board Room located at 57900 Van Dyke, Washington Township, MI 48094.
The purpose of this Public Hearing is to hear and receive comments related to the proposed text amendments to the Township’s V-1 Village District Regulations in the Washington Township Zoning Ordinance being Ordinance No. 138 along with the Village District Design Guidelines. The purpose of these proposed amendments include: eliminating the need to reference a separate Village District Design Guidelines document by incorporating architectural requirements, streetscape amenities and lighting standards directly into the Zoning Ordinance and then referring to the Village District Design Guidelines as Appendix B for the remaining recommended design elements; aligning zoning standards with Washington Township’s vision for the V-1 District as demonstrated in the adopted Master Plan; ensuring unity with existing development and historic structures; modifying the requirements for drive thru facilities in the V-1 Village District; clarifying which design elements are required by ordinance and which are only recommended along with repealing any and all Ordinances and/or resolutions in conflict therewith.
Everyone will be given an opportunity to speak during the Public Hearing.
