On March 5, 2025, the Township Board of the Charter Township of Washington, Macomb County, Michigan, adopted an Amendment of the Charter Township of Washington Zoning Ordinance, being Ordinance No. 138 as amended. The purpose of the Amendment is to provide definitions for drain, lake, lake shoreline, pond, stream, wetland and personal care services; clarify the types of wetlands that must be preserved in developments within the Township; provide additional regulations as to the requirement for a twenty-five (25) foot buffer around wetlands; provide that personal care service establishments, as now defined, are permitted within the local commercial and general commercial district within the Township and repeal any and all Ordinances and Resolutions in conflict therewith.
A complete copy of the Ordinance Amendment is posted in the office of the Township Clerk located at 57900 Van Dyke Avenue, Washington Township, Michigan 48094 and on the Washington Township website which can be accessed at www.washingtontownship.org. The Ordinance Amendment may be reviewed, inspected or a copy purchased at the Township Clerkâs Office Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The Ordinance Amendment shall take effect seven (7) days after this publication.
