Mary Caroline Benn, 93, a 54-year resident of Romeo, and formerly from Westland, died Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2025 at Leisure Manor in Richmond. She was born Jan. 3, 1932 in Blaine, the daughter of Joseph and Lois (Larive) Gibbons. She married William Benn on Nov. 23, 1957, and they enjoyed 68 years together as husband and wife.
Mary enjoyed square dancing. She also belonged to the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, the Garden Club and the Red Hat Society.
She is survived by her husband, William “Bill” Benn; sons, Peter Benn, David (April) Benn, of Denver, Colo.; daughter, Julie Benn Kratz of Romeo; siblings, Larry Gibbons, Lillian Toor, Kathy Todd, JoAnn Walters and Faith Lemersal; grandchildren, Phillip Kratz, John Kratz and Will Benn; and great-grandchildren, Carter Kratz, Ava Kratz, Gavin Kratz, Tyler Kratz and Ivy Kratz.
