A regular meeting of the Charter Township of Oakland Board of Trustees was called to order on Tuesday, September 24th, 2024 at 7:03 PM in the Township Hall, 4393 Collins Rd, Rochester, MI.
PRESENT: Dave Mabry, Clerk; John Giannangeli, Treasurer; Jack Elder, Trustee; Jeanne Langlois, Trustee; Lana Mangiapane, Trustee
ABSENT: Robin Buxar, Supervisor; Andy Zale, Trustee
THE FOLLOWING MOTIONS WERE MADE AND PASSED:
1. To appoint Trustee Langlois as president pro-term for the purpose of this meeting.
2. To approve the agenda as presented.
3. To approve the Consent Agenda as presented.
4. To approve the Historic District Commission to contract with C&A movers, and Bloomingdale Construction, and to utilize the Township’s 10-acre parcel #10-09-300-005 to place the historic Garling Barn at its new permanent location for costs not to exceed 145,000 for a solid permanent crawl foundation and roof repairs, additional costs for removal of old foundation and crib barn salvage and to authorize the Township Manager to sign the contracts with both named parties, C&A Movers and Bloomingdale Construction, and to direct the Township Manager to send a letter of thanks to the barn donor Oaktown LLC. S.
5. To approve the landowner agreement with the United States Fish and Wildlife Service Partners for habitat restoration at Blue Heron Environmental Area and Watershed Ridge Park and authorize the Township Manger to execute the agreement and that the Parks and Recreation Commission will be responsible for contributing $5,400 to purchase native plant seed mix, and $6,340 for in-kind services including site preparation, maintenance, and mowing and that the USFWS to be responsible for itemized project costs not to exceed $7,200.
6. To authorize Parks and Recreation Commission to amend the contract with Plantwise LLC., to add two burn units at Fox Nature Preserve (FNP), and extend the work period for the contract to December 31, 2025 for an amount not to exceed $10,725.
7. To authorize the submittal of the pre-application to the Michigan Department of Natural Resources Fisheries Habitat grant program for the replacement of the Fox Nature Preserve culvert replacement project.
8. To approve the distribution of the draft Master Plan 5-Year Update to surrounding communities and outside agencies for comment, as required under the Michigan Planning Act, Act 33 of 2008.
9. To adjourn the meeting at 8:27 PM.
