PUBLIC NOTICE – TOWNSHIP OF ARMADA NOTICE OF VOTER REGISTRATION FOR THE GENERAL ELECTION TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 5, 2024

TO THE QUALIFIED ELECTORS OF ARMADA TOWNSHIP, COUNTY OF MACOMB, MICHIGAN:

NOTICE IS HERBY GIVEN: that any qualified elector of Armada Township who is not already registered, may register to vote at the office of the Township Clerk; the office of the County Clerk; a Secretary of State branch office, other designated state agency. Registration forms can be obtained at mi.gov/vote and mailed to the Township Clerk. Voters who are already registered may update their registration at www.expressSOS.com. The last day to register in any manner other than in-person with the local clerk is Tuesday, October 22, 2024. A sample ballot may be viewed at mi.gov/vote.

After this date, any qualified elector may register to vote in person with proof of residency (MCL 168.492) at the Armada Township Clerk’s office, located at 23121 E. Main, Armada, MI 48005 at the following times:

• Regular business hours: Monday – Thursday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

• Saturday, August 3 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

• Election Day, Tuesday, November 5 from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE the General Election you will be voting on candidates for the following offices:

President and Vice-President of the United States, United States Senator, Representative in Congress 9th District. Representative in State Legislature 65th District, Member of the State Board of Education, Regent of the University of Michigan, Trustee of Michigan State University, Governor of Wayne State University, Prosecuting Attorney, Sheriff, Clerk and Register of Deeds, County Treasurer, Public Works Commissioner, County Commissioner 1st District, Justice of Supreme Court 8 year term, Justice of Supreme Court Partial Term ending 1/1/29, Judge of Court of Appeals 2nd District Incumbent Position, Judge of Court of Appeals 2nd District Non-Incumbent Position, Judge of Circuit Court 16th District Incumbent Position, Judge of Circuit Court 1th Circuit non-Incombent Position, Judge of Probate Court Incumbent Position, Judge of Probate Court New Judgeship, Board of Trustees Member Macomb Community College.

Romeo School District: Board Member Armada Area (3).

Armada School District: Board Member 6 year term (2) and Partial Term Ending 12/31/26.

Armada Township: Supervisor, Clerk, Treasurer and Trustees (2).

Village of Armada: President, Clerk, Treasurer, Trustees (3).

THE FOLLOWING PROPOSALS WILL APPEAR ON THE BALLOT:

Continuation of Macomb County E 9-1-1 Surcharge

For the purpose of continuing funding for 9-1-1 emergency call answering and dispatch services within Macomb County, shall Macomb County be authorized to assess a surcharge of up to $0.42 per month on all service users, except for users of prepaid wireless telecommunications service, located within Macomb County for a period of four (4) years, effective July 1, 2025 through June 30, 2029?

Proposal to Elect a Charter Commission for the Purpose of Revising The Home Rule Charter of the County of Macomb

Shall the county of Macomb elect a charter commission for the purpose of generally revising the Home Rule Charter of the County of Macomb and framing and submitting to the electorate of the county a revised home rule charter for the county under the constitution and laws of Michigan?

Early Voting for the November 5, 2024 General Election will be available to voters starting October 26, 2024 and ending on November 3, 2024 for Precinct 1 and Precinct 2 and will be held at the Armada Senior Center, 75400 North Avenue, Armada, MI. Hours are 8:30 AM until 4:30PM each day. To verify registration status please call 586-784-5200 Ext: 16 or visit www.michigan.gov/vote.

The Township Clerk’s office will be open from 8:30 AM until 4:30 PM on Saturday, November 2, 2024 to request an absent voter ballot. Persons qualified to vote by absentee ballot in the General Election may vote in person in the Clerk’s office up to 4:00 PM, November 4.
