NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the STATE PRIMARY ELECTION will be held in the Charter Township of Washington, County of Macomb, State of Michigan, on

Tuesday AUGUST 6, 2024

The Polls for this election will OPEN at 7 A.M. and will remain open UNTIL 8 P. M. of said day at the following locations in the Charter Township of Washington.

FOR THE PURPOSE OF NOMINATING PARTISAN CANDIDATES FOR THE OFFICES OF:

U.S. Senator, Representative in Congress (9th District), Representative in State Legislature (66th District) Prosecuting Attorney, Sheriff, County Clerk and Register of Deeds, County Treasurer, Public Works Commissioner, County Commissioner (1st District), Township Supervisor, Township Clerk, Township Treasurer and Township Trustees (4).

Judge of Probate Court New Judgeship, Delegates to County Convention of the Democratic and Republican Parties.

1. MILLAGE RENEWAL FOR OPERATION OF PARKS AND RECREATION

TOTAL AMOUNT OF TAXES WHICH MAY BE LEVIED ON ALL TAXABLE REAL AND PERSONAL PROPERTY IN THE CHARTER TOWNSHIP OF WASHINGTON, MACOMB COUNTY, MICHIGAN BE INCREASED BY AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED THREE-QUARTERS (3/4) OF ONE (1) MILL FOR EACH ONE ($1.00) DOLLAR ($0.75 FOR EACH $1,000.00) OF THE TAXABLE VALUE OF SUCH PROPERTY FOR A PERIOD OF FOUR (4) YEARS FOR THE OPERATION OF PARKS AND RECREATION? THIS PROPOSED MILLAGE IS A RENEWAL OF A PREVIOUSLY AUTHORIZED MILLAGE.

2. MILLAGE RENEWAL FOR SENIOR CITIZEN TRANSPORTATION (STAR)

TOTAL AMOUNT OF TAXES WHICH MAY BE LEVIED ON ALL TAXABLE REAL AND PERSONAL PROPERTY BE INCREASED BY ONE-QUARTER (1/4) OF ONE (1) MILL FOR EACH ONE ($1.00) DOLLAR ($0.25 FOR EACH $1,000.00) OF THE TAXABLE VALUE OF SUCH PROPERTY FOR A PERIOD OF FOUR (4) YEARS FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROVIDING FUNDS FOR SENIOR CITIZEN AND PERMANENTLY DISABLED TRANSPORTATION SERVICES? THIS PROPOSED MILLAGE IS A RENEWAL OF A PREVIOUSLY AUTHORIZED MILLAGE.

Early Voting for the August 6, 2024 Primary Election will be available to voters starting July 27, 2024 and ending on August 4, 2024. The Early Voting Center, located at 57880 Van Dyke Rd. Washington Township, MI, 48094, will be open to voters from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. each day during this period.

ABSENTEE BALLOT APPLICATION DEADLINE:

By mail deadline is Friday, August 2, 2024 at 5:00 p.m. The Clerk’s Office will be open on that day from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. to accept absentee ballot applications and for other election related business. Additional hours of operation for issuance of in-person Absent Voter Ballots and other election related business is Saturday August 3, 2024, from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The deadline for voting by absentee ballot in person is Monday, August 5, 2024 at 4:00 p.m. at the township office, 57900 Van Dyke Rd.
