Jean Sharron Holcomb, 84, of Washington Township died Wednesday, June 5, 2024. She was born July 28, 1939. She married Ira “Jim” Holcomb on June 8, 1960.
Jean was devoted to raising her three children to be the best people that they could become. She was an active member of the adult choir at St. Clement of Rome Church in Romeo for many years. She also was an active member of the Greater Washington Area Historical Society in Washington Township for over 45 years where she arranged exhibits in the museum and organized fund raising events specifically the Super Sunday Craft Show which has been held for 46 years. She has worked diligently in remodeling the 1843 Wells Burt Octagon House, Washington Township’s “other” octagon house.
She is survived by her husband, Ira, of 60 years, children, Elizabeth (David) Zavolta, Jim (Cathy) Holcomb, and Matthew Holcomb; grandchildren, Christina (Kamil) Chanski, Kirk (Jillian) Holcomb, Claire Zavolta and Hannah Zavolta; great-grandchildren, Kamden, Kellen, and Riley; and sister, Mary Jane Potts.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Albert Potts Jr.
