Tiny Turtle Relay Race

Upcoming event on July 16. There’s nothing we like more than observing turtles that live throughout the park systems. The group will be warming up with a short story read to us by a turtle puppet before being introduced to a real life Eastern Box Turtle who you can pet, hold and learn about. Afterwards the rumors of turtles being slow will be put to the test as you try and beat the turtle in a short race. The group will use their prizes to put together a turtle craft to take home. Lastly everyone will take a short stroll out to the pond to see some wild turtles taking in some sunlight. There will be no sharing of equipment and we shall remain socially distant on the lawn. Participants are asked to bring their own blanket to sit on. Ages 3-5. Maximum 12 active participants. Cost: $5 for residents, $7 for nonresidents.
