JUNE 22 ISSUE ANSWERS (photo to right): This impressive home is located at 73715 South Fulton St. in Armada. It was built by Bert C. Preston. Bert was the first person to graduate from Armada High School, the class of 1878. He was also the only student in that class. Bert returned to Armada after graduating from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. He was a lawyer and banker. He owned the bank in Armada. From the files in the Armada Library The house has been renovated. The home has elements of Queen Ann with the tower and wrap-around porch. It also appears to be shingle style on the second story. The main gable has stick work. The porch columns are colonial revival. One might call this a colonial revival style that uses elements of numerous past architectural styles around 1900. R.
