JANUARY 5 ISSUE ANSWERS (photo to right): The object in the new photo is a napkin ring or napkin holder, fancier than most as it also has a vase to hold a small flower. Victorians loved to put on a show when they had company for dinner. One of these napkin rings would be placed at each place setting as part of the elaborate table decorations.
